Debra Butterfield is a freelance writer, copywriter, author and public speaker. Prior to becoming a freelancer in 2006, Debra worked for the in-house advertising agency of Focus on the Family in account management and as a copywriter. Concurrent with her work at Focus on the Family, Debra served as contributing editor to Voice for All Nations magazine (a publication of Church for All Nations in Colorado Springs, Colorado) for 1.5 years.

She is very candid about her life and the struggles she has faced and it is her desire to lessen the burden for others who are in crisis. It was that desire that led Debra to write her first book, Help! My Husband Has Sexually Abused Our Daughter, in 2007. After the release of her book, Debra began speaking publicly to parent groups and organizations on sexual abuse prevention, healing from abuse, and forgiveness.

In March 2009, Debra launched Glory and Strength.com, an online magazine. It covers such topics as abuse, adultery, pornography, chronic diseases, etc. —hard hitting issues many do not want to face or talk about. The mission of Glory and Strength is to minister encouragement and hope to its readers and to let them know they are not alone in their struggle. She points readers to Christ as their true source of hope and healing.

Debra co-facilitates a writers’ critique group in her hometown of St. Joseph as well as speaks to writers’ groups on such subjects as editing your work, query letters, search engine optimization and other topics of interest to writers.

She is a graduate of Jerry B. Jenkins' Christian Writers Guild Apprentice Program and a member of Heart of America Christian Writers’ Network.
