Be Fully Convinced in God’s Word

18 September, 2023 by Debra

Be fully convinced of what God's Word has promised you.

What does it mean to be fully convinced—of anything?

It means to be absolutely certain, to have no doubts, that something will be accomplished.

Are you fully convinced the sun will set tonight? I’d say so. You probably didn’t even give it a thought, otherwise, you’d be in a panic.

Stop and think about what being certain of something does for you.

  • You have no doubts.
  • You have confidence in its occurrence.
  • You have peace.

Are you fully convinced you’ll overcome any tough situation that might come your way?

Your certainty may have vanished before you finished reading that sentence.

My Wake-up Call

When I landed in a hospital bed for six days back in December 2017, I came face to face with my anemic faith in God. I lacked any kind of certainty—other than my salvation—in God’s Word. It was time for that to end!

I later learned that in Jesus’ day, Romans soldiers were told to come home a winner or not to come home at all. They went into battle determined and convinced they would win.

We are soldiers in the Lord’s army. We can enter any situation fully convinced we’ll win.

But How Can I Be Fully Convinced?

Know what the Bible says about your situation.

However, you can’t read a Scripture just once and be fully convinced. You must know that you know that you know. That’s what being convinced is—knowing without a doubt.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

To be fully convinced, we must know what God’s Word says and spend time renewing our mind of that truth. “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).

In my Wednesday Word email last week I spoke about confessing God’s Word on a regular basis. We are to write God’s Word on the table of our hearts (Proverbs 3:7), and we do that by speaking His Word out loud. “My tongue is the pen of a ready writer” (Psalm 45:1 KJV).

This helps our faith develop and helps us become fully convinced.

To help you with this process, I’ve written a confession of God’s Word that you can use starting today. Read it out loud, record it on an app on your phone and listen to it often.

Confession

I am the body of Christ. No one will be able to stand against me because God is with me. He will not fail me or abandon me. Greater is He that is me than he who is the world, and no weapon formed against me will prosper. In all things I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me. I take the shield of faith and quench every fiery dart that Satan brings against me. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.

Jesus gave me authority to use His name, and whatever I bind on Earth is bound in heaven, and whatever I loose on earth is loosed in heaven. Therefore, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, *I bind the principalities, the powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world. I bind and cast down spiritual wickedness in high places. I render them harmless and ineffective against me, against my business, against my ministry, against my property, against my family, and in the name of Jesus, I loose the Spirit of the living God to minister accurately the wisdom and knowledge and understanding I need to deal wisely in all the affairs of life.* I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

In Conclusion

Use the example above and put together other confessions that will develop your faith in areas you need such as provision or healing.

Meditate on and regularly proclaim God’s Word so you can be fully convinced.
