Destined to Succeed in Your Purpose

28 October, 2024 by Debra

For many years now, my desire has been to fulfill God’s destiny for my life: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Eph. 2:10 NLT). And in doing that, to experience and enjoy the life Jesus promised in John 10:10: “I have come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (NKJV).

I want to live in the totality of that life. Redemption, deliverance, salvation. Healing and peace and provision. His purpose and eternal life. Seems like a tall order, but is anything too difficult for the Lord?

Many people struggle with discerning their life purpose. But God never intended us to have that struggle (though Satan would attempt to tell us otherwise). Why would God give us a purpose and then make it difficult for us to figure it out?

Most often the desires of our heart point to our purpose. Those things we love doing and when we’re doing them, we lose all track of time.

Those desires often get stamped out or buried when we’re children, especially if they lean toward the creative arts. Take heart, you can revive them! It starts with your decision to do just that. Then God will give you the next step. Take that step, and then seek Him for the next and the next and the next.

Maybe you’re fearful about whether you can succeed.

Does God fail at anything?

No.

Has God given you a purpose?

Yes.

Would He give you a purpose without being fully committed to helping you succeed in that purpose?

Uh-oh, this one might take a bit more thought, might challenge you to face false beliefs you hold.

God intends for you to succeed at His purpose for your life.

Stop and truly think this through.

Jesus died for you. Is He going to be apathetic about your progress through life?

Is he going to be apathetic about whether or not you enjoy the promises of His Word?

He paid the highest price possible, so—no, He’s not apathetic about your life in any way.

God has given a purpose to all life. Just look at nature; it has no trouble in fulfilling its job. God’s intent is for all life to increase. “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over…every living thing” (Gen. 1:28 KJV).

One plant bears seeds for many more. Every animal bears seeds for many more of its kind. Humankind, male and female, bears more than one seed that life may increase. Earth as we know it today would not exist if plants, animals, and human beings had only one seed to continue its kind.

God wants increase! True increase of life comes from knowing and accepting Him. He will not sit idly by while you flounder to find and execute the purpose He planted in your soul. He will do what’s necessary for you to succeed.

Believe, make the decision, and step out in faith.

I’m glad it ministered to you. My posts are often written as an encouragement to myself as much as they are for others.
